*Abctract
Advanced Biomass R&D Center (ABC) is a key research center financially supported by the Korean government, in the area of microalgae-based biorefinery. A number of experts in various research fields including phycology, molecular biology, biochemical engineering, and chemical engineering are taking part in this research center. In this talk, recent advances at ABC in microalgal cultivation, cell harvesting, lipid extraction, and lipid conversion to green diesel and bio-jet will be discussed. Development of various bioconversion/chemical processes for the production of co-products from byproduct glycerol and lipid-extracted algal biomass will be also discussed.
