▶Abctract
Publication is important for communicating and disseminating scientific results, but navigating the journals can oftentimes seem challenging. Nature Communications is an open access, online-only multidisciplinary journal, publishes important advances to specialists within each field. In this talk, I will discuss what happens behind the scenes at Nature Communications, our editorial criteria and workflow in the context of the Nature family journals. This talk will provide insight for helping authors prepare and publish their work; how to clearly present your message, revise your manuscript, respond to reviewers, and work with editors. Lastly, I will talk about how I made the transition from a bench life to an editorial career, what the job involves, and key skills.
